Poem: Critical Thinking

view From the Front Porch Porch

CRITICAL THINKING

Critical thinking—

A forgotten skill.

Once was a given,

And should be still!

Too long expected

To accept the norm.

No thought employed—

What’s the harm?

Perhaps the norm

Came into being

Through long ago times—

No insight seeing.

Critical thinking

Can be unsettling—

Why rock the boat?

Are we just meddling?

“We had the truth”,

And knew what to do.

Just ask us, friend—

You haven’t a clue.

Did we REALLY  know

Or blindly accept

Our group has the “truth”

Are others inept?

Starting today,

I’ll examine my views,

Ask lots of questions

And hope you will too.

Did I judge others?

My role is to love.

Judging’s God’s job—

Think on this brother!
