The Savior of the World

view From the Front Porch Porch

Christ is the Savior of the World:

“So also, when we were children, we were enslaved under the basic principles of the world. But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,  to redeem those under the law, that we might receive our adoption as sons.

We celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, at this time.  Rightfully so. But the saving of our souls from the sins we have is the redemption we have through his death, burial. and resurrection making us truly “sons of God.”  “Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.'”

Our western culture is different and yet the same. Looking at the condition of the world, the “movers and shakers”, rejected the real Savior of the World.  In its place they believe they can recreate a utopian society.  Not recognizing the real problem as rebellion against God and resulting sin, they attempt to address the condition of the world using human wisdom.  Hence, they invent their own superficial sources of the problems of : class economic disparities; racism, feminism, gender identities, patriarchal problems, etc.  Along with these “problems” ideologies are invented to make our world into a utopian society such as: communism and socialism, critical race theory, identity politics in all of its forms, climate change, the great “reset” of the world economic forum, and postmodernism.

All this was predicted: “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.”

Associated this all these ideologies is the idea of the total destruction of the “old’ order to establish the new.  But, somehow the “new” and how it managed is never coherently defined.  Nihilism is the end result.  Postmodernism has rejected all “truth” except determined by pure reason.  And, even then, it was only those in power that determined “truth”.  So the end of postmodernism is “truth does not exist.”   Having rejected objective truth, then how does one build any moral system to resolve the problems of society?  One must rely on subjective feelings.  Thus, one’s values replace concrete objective virtues.  Each person adheres to his own selected ideology according to his “values.”

What is the answer?  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.  Embrace through faith  the grace of God for the forgiveness of sin, be buried with him in baptism–“Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God [p]for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.”  “At that time (of the resurrection of the redeemed)  they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” This is the true meaning of The Birth of the Savior.
